WISE 37 As Role Model

Postby Shawn on Sat Nov 22, 2008 4:39 pm

Hi guys!

Before any of you begin to wonder from where did I pop up, I will simply answer this by saying that I was part of WISE 37 (in 2007). I am still part of WISE 37, at least in my heart, and that is the reason why I am approaching you guys.

The real purpose of me being back here (although it's online) is because I moved in December of 2007 to Sahuarita, Arizona and I am trying to bring the Eco-Friendly movement to the college I am currently attending. Trying to grow organic foods and being all eco-friendly here in the desert is not very easy, however it is not impossible. I have been doing all sorts of research and using what I have learned from you guys as resource to begin (now in 2008, if possible) an environmental club at Pima Community College.

I am very thrilled about this whole idea of starting a club that pretty much will have branched from WISE 37. I have started a vermicompost as part of my project, and visited many facilities in the county that provide information (and seminars) on how to grow organic in the desert, and how to harvest rainwater.

Since I have already mentioned the vermicompost, I would say that it would be an amazing project for you guys to make as a group. It is not expensive and it is one of those things that keeps on giving.

I just want to thank you guys for everything!
